ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT FOR THE PROPOSED N21 (R300) CAPE TOWN RING ROAD TOLL PROJECT: OPEN HOUSES
The Peninsula Expressway Consortium is proposing a ring road around the Cape Metropolitan Area. The proposed road would be a toll road between Muizenberg and Bloubergstrand linking onto the existing R300, which will form the base for the ring road. In addition, the extension of the existing R300 (from Vanguard Drive across the Philippi Horticultural Area to Prince George Drive) will be included in the scheme. The Initial Phase of Scheme Development was completed in December 2001 and included a Scoping Study, undertaken by Chand/Ecosense Joint Venture (CEJV), from February to November 2000. In keeping with the Environment Conservation Act (No. 73 of 1989) and the National Environmental Management Act (No. 107 of 1998) Penway appointed CEJV as the independent environmental consultants to conduct the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Phase on this proposed project. As part of the EIA phase, and in order to provide a further opportunity for the public to learn more details about the proposed project and to pose questions to the professional team, CEJV are hosting a number of Open Houses along the proposed route to which you are cordially invited. The details of the Open Houses are:
The Open Houses will be from 15:00 – 19:00. Please contact Emily Herschell at (021) 418-4212 or emily@chand.co.za should you require further details regarding the Open Houses.
